Meet Our Founder

Tanya Moore

Tanya Moore, a Virginia native who made Atlanta her home in 2011, is the visionary Founder & Executive Director of Make Justice Healing Incorporated. From an early age, she developed a deep passion for advocacy and service, inspired by the remarkable women in her family. She watched her great-grandmother care for adults with mental illness, her grandmother minister to incarcerated men, and her mother nurture children through an in-home daycare—each shaping her commitment to uplifting others.

Rooted in compassion and a relentless drive for change, Tanya has become a trusted pillar of support in her community. Her advocacy work and powerful voice as a speaker have reached wide audiences, earning her features on podcasts, television programs, and conferences. Through Make Justice Healing, she continues to transform personal pain into collective healing, ensuring that families affected by gun violence receive the resources and support they deserve.

The Founder's story

When tragedy struck Tanya’s life, it felt like an earthquake—shattering everything she knew. For over two decades, she coped the best way she could, carrying the weight of her loss. But in time, she made a life-changing decision: to take control of her emotional trauma and seek therapy.

Through her healing journey, Tanya realized she was not alone. Countless families and children who had lost loved ones to gun violence were struggling in silence, without the support they needed. This realization ignited a greater purpose within her. In 2023, she turned her long-held vision into reality by founding Make Justice Healing Incorporated—a movement dedicated to helping others find strength, healing, and hope after loss.
Tanya is living proof that healing is possible and that purpose can emerge from even the deepest pain.

Her Vision

"My vision for Make Justice Healing is to establish a network of centers in every inner city, ensuring that underserved youth facing gun violence trauma receive the community services and healing they need to successfully transition into adulthood."
